KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee coaches Butch Jones and Rick Barnes inherited less than ideal circumstances with their respective programs when they were hired to coach the Vols.
Both have made marked improvement since their arrivals and appear to have their teams headed in the right direction.
Jones enters the 5th year of his tenure coming off back-to-back Top 25 seasons, but he has yet to win the SEC East Division four years removed from taking over a program that had gone 2-14 vs. league teams prior to his arrival.
Barnes took over a depleted basketball program and recently led Tennessee to a 16-16 record his second season, but he has missed making the postseason both years with the Vols.
Mike Griffith and WNML’s Josh Ward discuss which coach has done a better job, and what should realistic expectations be?
