With National Signing Day over and done with, we’ve seen a number of assistant coaches across the SEC end tenures with their employers. The Tennessee Volunteers reportedly are the latest to part ways with an assistant.
On Tuesday, VolQuest.com reported that the Vols and offensive line coach Don Mahoney are going their separate ways.

Mahoney is a graduate of West Virginia State University and had been on Volunteers football coach Butch Jones’ staff since 2013. He previously coached at Tulane, Cincinnati and Central Michigan. He oversaw the development of eventual NFL Draft No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher.
Update: VolQuest is reporting that Dan Wells, already on staff, will be promoted to take Mahoney’s place.
