It never really seemed to be in that much doubt, but Admiral Schofield made it official Tuesday afternoon that he would be returning to the Tennessee basketball program.
Schofield made the announcement through a graphic posted on Twitter.

“I have learned so much through this NBA draft evaluation process and am looking forward to improving the areas of my game that need it while also improving as a man,” he wrote in part.
Schofield decided back in March that he would test the NBA draft waters and see what the next level might have to offer. He averaged 13.9 points and 6.4 rebounds last season, but clearly believes he can accomplish more at Tennessee.
“He told us from day one that his plan has been to come back to college,” Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes said last week. “That’s why this system is great. A year from now, it’s for keeps.
“So, I think the experience he has garnered will not only help him, it will help our whole team because he’s going to share what he’s gone through, and he has learned a lot.”
While the Vols were a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, they were upset by Loyola-Chicago. Barnes was still named SEC Coach of the Year and Schofield’s NBA draft chances are only going to rise if he can improve on his junior season.
