Tennessee hoping to get sixth year for Curt Maggitt
Tennessee will explore getting a sixth year for injured linebacker Curt Maggitt, according to Jimmy Hyams of WNML in Knoxville. Maggitt is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks after he chipped a bone in his hip during the Vols’ 31-24 loss to Oklahoma in Week 2, coach Butch Jones announced on Wednesday.
The redshirt senior sat out the entire 2013 season while recovering from a torn ACL injury suffered against Missouri in 2012.
Maggitt led the team in sacks last season. The senior has 141 tackles, 28.5 for loss, 13.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 83 career appearances.
Tennessee will explore getting a 6th year for injured DE-OLB Curt Maggitt, who missed 2013 due to torn ACL v. Missouri in 2012.
