KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee finally has its quarterback for the 2017 class.
Cheshire Academy (Conn.) signal caller CJ Lewis, a 3-star prospect, committed to the Vols on Saturday after receiving a scholarship offer over the weekend.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s 40th dual-threat quarterback.
Lewis, who attended UT’s ‘Orange & White Game’ in April, also held offers from Boston College, UConn and Buffalo, but camped at Tennessee in June and hoped a strong showing would eventually lead to a official scholarship offer.
Lewis is Tennessee’s 23rd commit of the 2017 class, ranking No. 10 in the country — per 247Sports.
Tennessee coach Butch Jones appeared to take the news very well, posting the following on Twitter.
