Richardson is the No. 51 safety prospect in the 2018 class, and the No. 49 prospect in the state of Georgia. Richardson is listed at 6-foot-1 185 pounds. The Buford, Ga., prospect also had offers from Louisville, NC State and Vanderbilt. Richardson plays for Georgia powerhouse Buford High School, which has produced plenty of SEC players in the past, such as Dillon Lee, a linebacker at Alabama, and Isaac Nauta, a freshman tight end at Georgia.
Richardson is the Volunteers third commitment for the 2018 class, joining 5-star offensive tackle Cade Mays and athlete Alontae Taylor.
The Volunteers are off next week. They return to action against South Carolina on Oct. 29.
