Tennessee secured on of its top targets on Thursday when four-star recruit Marquez Callaway committed to the Vols.
The 6-foot-2, 177-pounder from Warner Robins (Ga.) High School is rated the No. 3 athlete prospect in the nation and the No. 12 overall prospect in Georgia. He is slated to play receiver at Tennessee.
“I (have) decided to attend The University of Tennessee to further my Education and further my football career. It was a tough decision but I think I made the right decision. Thank you for all the support and love. GO VOLS,” Callaway tweeted.
Callaway had long been a high priority for the Vols, as they were trying to pick up another receiver for the Class of 2016. Callaway took his official visit to Tennessee last weekend and hosted passing game coordinator/receivers coach Zach Azzanni for an in-home visit on Wednesday.
Callaway had been slated to take official visits to Ole Miss and Mississippi State in the next two weeks. It remains to be seen whether or not those visits will take place. He was also considering Miami after the Hurricanes made a late push.
