Tennessee won’t likely ever have Jon Gruden as its head coach, but he can still be a trusted advisor.
Once a former graduate assistant at Tennessee, the ESPN broadcaster hosted several Tennessee coaches last week.

Offensive coordinator Mike DeBord tweeted out a picture of the the Vols’ coaching staff and Gruden on Friday saying the staff spent two days with the former NFL coach. Included in the photo was coach Butch Jones, passing game coordinator/receivers coach Zach Azzanni, tight ends coach Larry Scott, running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Robert Gillespie and graduate assistant Nick Sheridan.
The former NFL head coach has long spoken highly of Tennessee’s program. He met his wife during his time at Tennessee and spoke to the Vols before the Outback Bowl in January. He has also been the fan favorite as a replacement for recent coaches who were fired from Tennessee. However, no serious contact was ever confirmed.
