Tennessee picked up a late commitment Tuesday evening just before National Signing Day when athlete Tyler Byrd from Naples (Fla.) High School announced that he would flip his commitment from Miami to Tennessee.
Byrd, who was committed to Miami since Feb. 2015, took his official visit to Tennessee last weekend along with teammate Carlin Fils-aime, who committed to the Vols in July.
“We’ve gotten so close I think I can read his mind,” Byrd told SEC Country about Fils-aime last week.
Byrd, a 6-foot, 194-pound cornerback, is the No. 10 cornerback in the nation and the No. 15 overall prospect in Florida.
