Tennessee picked up more than a bowl win on Friday. The Vols also received another commitment for the Class of 2016.
Cornerback Baylen Buchanan from Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, Ga.) High School announced his commitment via Twitter shortly after the Vols beat Northwestern, 45-6, in the Outback Bowl.
“I first want to thank God for putting me in this position to have so many opportunities,” Buchanan stated. “Big thank you to my family and friends who have supported me in this process. I also want to thank all the schools that recruited me to play at their university. I have decided for the next four years I am going to be bleededing orange at the University of Tennessee.”
The 5-foot-11, 188 pound Buchanan is rated the No. 59 cornerback in the nation and the No. 64 prospect in Georgia. Buchanan chose the Vols over Oklahoma, Louisville and Georgia. The Sooners were thought to be the leader for the three-star prospect. Buchanan was formerly committed to Louisville.
Buchanan is the son of NFL standout Ray Buchanan.
