Tennessee freshman John Kelly was released from the hospital after a precautionary evaluation on Tuesday and could return to practice as soon as Thursday.
Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Kelly’s MRI and CT scans were clear.
“We were just in practice and he had some tingling going down his body…It was all precautionary,” Jones said during his weekly appearance on the SEC coaches’ teleconference on Wednesday. “You have to do that to take care of your players.”
Jones said he anticipates Kelly will return to practice on Thursday. The Vols have a bye this week before playing Alabama on Oct. 24.
“I can assure everyone John is doing well,” Jones said.”
Kelly has primarily played on special teams this season. He has carried the ball 21 times for 88 yards in four games played.
