While most college football fans are preoccupied with recruiting at the moment since signing day for the Class of 2017 is less than two weeks away, there is still news coming out about prospects in future classes. Unfortunately for Tennessee fans, the latest such news is not positive.
Class of 2018 defensive back Bryson Richardson has rescinded his pledge to Butch Jones’ squad, a move first reported by Scout’s Chad Simmons.

Richardson is a 6-foot, 185-pound safety from Buford, Ga. According to 247Sports, he is a 3-star, and the 54th best safety prospect in his class. Richardson had been committed to Tennessee since mid-October. He holds offers from several other schools, including Louisville, NC State, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
