KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee added in-state kicker/punter Adam Williams to its 2017 class on Thursday.
The Wilson Central product announced he committed to the Vols as a preferred walk-on, choosing Tennessee over scholarship offers from Ball State, Austin Peay, South Alabama, Chattanooga and The Citadel.

Williams is unranked, per the 247Sports composite. At 6-foot-5, 210-pounds, the big kicker was 16 of 18 on field goals as a senior, and averaged 49 yards per punt.
Tennessee specialists Trevor Daniel, one of the top punters in the country, and Aaron Medley, the Vols starting kicker, will both be seniors in 2017.
In recent years, Tennessee has emerged as ‘Punter U,’ with a trio of former Vols — Matt Darr (Miami), Britton Colquitt (Denver) and Dustin Colquitt (Kansas City) — currently starting for NFL teams. Former UT kicker Michael Palardy (Carolina) is also in the league.
