Things have not been great for Tennessee of late. This past week, star running back Jalen Hurd transferred from the program after three consecutive losses essentially ended the Vols’ hopes of winning the SEC East. The cure to those ills? Apparently it’s a home tilt against Tennessee State.
When the Vols are focused, they’re as good as almost anyone. They’ve shown that during today’s game against an overmatched opponent:
Tennessee's matched its first quarter touchdown total from the first eight games (three) in less than 10 minutes of this one.

It took less than a minute for Tennessee to find the end zone, as the two Joshes — Dobbs and Malone — connected on a 30-yard touchdown. But those two weren’t done. A little more than five minutes later, Malone was back in the end zone after a 43-yard strike from Dobbs. The real home run of the half, however, came on this 73-yard sprint by John Kelly:

Dobbs would add another short touchdown to Jauan Jennings early in the second quarter, and Tennessee leads 35-0 just before halftime. The result has the Vols and their fans fired up:

Through almost 29 minutes of game action, Tennessee has piled up 350 yards of total offense. Dobbs has only 1 incompletion to go with his 3 touchdowns, while Kelly has 104 yards on just 7 carries.
