KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee’s three-game winning streak came to an end at Missouri on Wednesday night, with the Vols (12-5, 3-3 in SEC) falling to Cuonzo Martin’s Tigers (13-5, 3-2) by a 59-55 count.
The win over No. 21-ranked Tennessee snapped Missouri’s 19-game losing streak against ranked opponents, and with a 3-2 start in league play, Martin has already matched the SEC win total the Tigers had each of the past two seasons.
The Vols, meanwhile, travel to play a South Carolina team that’s coming off two straight wins, including a Tuesday night victory over Kentucky.
The Vols’ RPI slipped to No. 14 with the loss, while the strength of schedule is at No. 5. South Carolina (12-6, 3-3) is No. 48 in the RPI ratings and the No. 67 strength of schedule.
