The big plays keep coming for Tennessee against Kentucky. The latest via special teams.
Evan Berry and Cameron Sutton added to the barrage of points Tennessee was able to accumulate in the second and third quarter. Berry, a sophomore, retuned a kickoff deep in his own end zone for a 105-yard touchdown sprint.
Then, junior defensive back Cameron Sutton returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown following Kentucky’s ensuing possession. That gave the Vols a 52-21 lead with 5:29 left in the third quarter.
As for Berry, that was his third kickoff return for a touchdown this season. He previously had an 88-yard return for a score against Western Carolina. Then he returned a kick 96 yards for a touchdown against Arkansas.
Coming into the Kentucky game, Tennessee led the nation with a 36.9-yard per return kickoff return average.
