Tennessee’s Orange and White Game proved to be a tremendous recruiting tool for coach Butch Jones.
KD Nixon, a four-star wide receiver from DeSoto (Texas) High School, announced his commitment to Tennessee via Twitter Saturday. The 5-foot-8, 182-pounder’s commitment is the third of the day for the Vols, as he joins. Like Solon Page III and Cheyenne Labruzza.
“I owe this opportunity to my family and friends, coaches and of course God. Now that I’ve have been blessed with this chance I am overwhelmingly excited to say I have committed to the University of Tennessee,” Nixon tweeted.
The four-star prospect is the No. 38 prospect in the state of Texas and No. 34 wide receiver recruit in the nation, according to the 247Sports’ composite rankings. He chose Tennessee over more than 15 programs, including Ohio State, Texas, TCU, Oklahoma and Missouri.
Nixon becomes the sixth member of the Vols’ 2017 recruiting class and their only commit with more than three stars.
