KNOXVILLE — Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike DeBord said he’s looking for a wrinkles and new plays, but for obvious reasons he’s not going to go into any details
DeBord is opening his second year as Coach Butch Jones play caller after a successful season in 2015.
Changing and modifying the offense is a year to year thing, DeBord explained.
The Vols are still working on settling the left tackle position, but DeBord said it’s really all about getting the best five offensive linemen on the field.
The one observation the veteran assistant coach was willing to share from the first couple of days of practice was that the freshmen have really been catching on to the pace of the offense, and he’s impressed.
“We haven’t had pads on,” he said, “so it’s hard to really measure until you’ve had the pads on.”
