Tennessee Volunteers star Jalen Hurd met new Tennessee Titans running back Demarco Murray Thursday, and like any star struck fan, posted a photo of the interaction on social media.
Murray, a 6-foot, All-Pro NFL running back, looks like an average joe when standing next to the Vols junior rusher, who’s listed at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds.
Last season, Hurd rushed for 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns and if his talk with Murray was as good as he indicates, those numbers will pale in comparison to what he’ll accomplish next season.
Murray hasn’t been as productive since leaving the Dallas Cowboys, but his 2014 campaign was one for the ages. He carried the ball 392 times for 1,845 yards and 13 scores, earning him Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Hurd, a Heisman Trophy hopeful, needs less than 900 yards to become Tennessee’s all-time leading rusher.
