The Tennessee-Alabama game has not been quite as ugly as expected thus far. The Vols have been shut out, sure, but they’ve also held the Crimson Tide offense somewhat in check.
With that said, they haven’t always done a good job of helping themselves. Case in point came in the second quarter when, with Alabama driving, Tennessee committed a hands-to-the-face penalty on a play where Alabama fumbled the ball out of the end zone, thus taking a Vols turnover off the board:

Needless to say, that can’t have made Butch Jones very happy, as the Vols need all the help they can get against the No. 1 team in the country.
At halftime, the Crimson Tide lead Tennessee 21-0.
