Eric Berry’s career has been a mixture of unbelievable play, great personality, and incredibly unfortunate circumstances.
In the Chiefs season opener against the Patriots, he ruptured the achilles in his left leg, which will cause him to miss the entire 2017 season.
Prior to Berry’s surgery on the achilles, his agent Chad Speck shared a video of the former Tennessee safety, who appears upbeat and locked in on the future.

“I’m coming back man, like better than ever,” Berry says. “I’m coming back to change the game. Not coming with that BS. So everybody just watch out and just know that I’m serious when I come back. Straight up.”
Berry previously missed time in 2011 with a knee injury and in 2014 and 2015 as he battled and defeated cancer. He signed a monster contract extension with the Chiefs in February 2017, totaling six years and $78 million.
In all five seasons of his career in which he has played at least 15 games, Berry has been selected to the Pro Bowl. Get well soon Eric!
