When Tim Tebow was at Florida he was known for his inspiring speeches before games.
Tebow put his Gator allegiance aside Saturday on SEC Network. He tried to give an inspirational speech to Tennessee before its matchup against Alabama.
The former quarterback didn’t lie about the task being easy for the Vols. He said what could be a key difference in the game, though.
“You step up and let one thing define you,” Tebow said. “That’s your effort, how much you care. Because in this game, Alabama is better than you.”
Tennessee enters the game as a heavy underdog, while Alabama has the No. 1 ranking in the country.
The Vols have stumbled their way through the SEC schedule this season and lost all three games.
Tebow said Alabama has an advantage in every phase of the game. The Vols need to come out and show how much they care in this game according to Tebow.
“Let me tell you one thing they better not be better than you in,” Tebow said. “That’s called heart. That’s called courage and how much you care. Everyone wants to talk about discipline and hard work. I don’t believe them because when you care about something, that’s what makes you get up and work.”
Tebow had a 1-1 record as a starter against Alabama while he played at Florida.
