KNOXVILLE — Tennessee’s opening fall practice is in the books, and there weren’t many surprises from Coach Butch Jones.
Cliches aside, that’s a good thing, when one considers the distractions the Vols have faced since first-ballot hall of fame coach Phillip Fulmer was fired midway through the 2007 season.
Jones is the first to say his rebuilding process is not done — there are only 11 seniors in the program.
But Tennessee returns 17 starters from a nine-win team that finished last season on a six-game win streak.
Tennessee beat writers Mike Griffith and Jesse Simonton discuss Jones’ opening presser, and some of the news that came out of it in the Facebook Live video below.
