As promised, Tennessee football honored its legendary quarterback before kickoff of Saturday’s game against Alabama.
The fans at Neyland Stadium paid proper respect to Peyton Manning, who was honored as the program’s “Legend of the Game” just moments before kickoff. He was joined on the playing surface by former Vols coach Phillip Fulmer, who helped present Manning with framed art that included commemorative Sports Illustrated covers that highlighted various points in his storied career, according to the Associated Press.

Manning joined SEC on CBS broadcasters Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson for an in-booth interview during the second quarter. The former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback said this was his third Vols game of the season. Retirement apparently does have its perks.
