2017 SEC Country Power Poll: Where Texas A&M is ranked (Week 11)

Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel had quite the game Saturday vs. New Mexico: 416 passing yards and 4 TDs — in just one half.

Starkel led the Aggies to a 48-point first half en route to a 55-7 victory. Texas A&M improved to 6-4 overall and remained 3-3 in the SEC before playing its final two games (at Ole Miss and at LSU) to wrap up the regular season.

The victory was expected, so the Aggies didn’t receive any special treatment in the SEC Country Power Poll this week. They are No. 7 for a second consecutive week, receiving a high vote of sixth and low of 10th.

Texas A&M held the Lobos to 144 total yards and 11 first downs.

The Aggies started strong as Starkel tossed a 60-yard TD pass to Christian Kirk on the second play of the game and later found Jhamon Ausbon for a 10-yard TD to give them a 13-0 lead. That’s when Texas A&M went wild.

Keith Ford scored from the 12, Damion Ratley hauled in a 1-yard TD toss from Starkel, Kirk returned a punt 90 yards for a score and Ratley’s second TD of the day came on a 36-yard pass. Trayveon Williams scored from the 7, and it was 48-0 with 1:40 left in the half.

Alabama remained at No. 1, as it has been all season in the power poll. Auburn is second, followed by Georgia, Mississippi State, LSU and South Carolina.
