Texas A&M cornerback Brandon Williams is officially in the NFL. Williams was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
The 5-foot-11, 197-pound defensive back recorded 37 tackles and and broke up seven passes during his senior season with the Aggies.
Scouts believe Williams is a raw cornerback who has shown flashes of potential to be a competent NFL player. He has excellent speed and ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and uses that speed to keep up in coverage.
Williams joins a couple of SEC standouts in the Arizona secondary. Former LSU stars Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu will be Williams’ teammates in Arizona. Williams will have a tough learning curve and will have to fight for playing time at the next level.
