Texas A&M star defensive back Armani Watts’ interception finally put a dagger in Tennessee’s hopes to continue an undefeated season.
Watts’ pick came at the 2-yard line in the second overtime, and it helped the No. 8 Aggies (6-0, 4-0 SEC) preserve a 45-38 win after seeing the ninth-ranked Vols come back from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to tie the game.

Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC) forced the extra session by turning a 28-14 fourth-quarter deficit into a 35-all tie at the end of regulation. This was the fifth time this season that the Volunteers had come back from a double-digit deficit, though in this case, they could only tie the game.
Texas A&M had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Daniel LaCamera’s 38-yard kick was wide left.
