The Texas A&M Aggies find themselves near the top of the College Football Playoff Rankings.
Not only are the Aggies ranked in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, but they are in the top 10 and one of the highest ranked one-loss team’s in the country. The Aggies were ranked No. 4 by the playoff committee.
Texas A&M held the No. 7 ranking in the AP Poll and have a 7-1 record on the season. The Aggies are the highest ranked one-loss team in the country and are ranked ahead of unbeaten Washington.
The Aggies were the second highest ranked SEC team, behind only Alabama in the rankings. The Crimson Tide came in at No. 1. A total of five SEC teams were ranked, with Florida, Auburn and LSU being the other three.
As for the weekend ahead, the Aggies travel to Starkville, Miss., to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. While the Aggies knocked off the Bulldogs last year, Mississippi State won when the two teams met in Starkville back in 2014.
Kickoff between the two SEC West foes is scheduled for noon ET on the SEC Network.
