The College Station Police Department has released the details on why Texas A&M linebacker Josh Walker was arrested on Friday night.
In the report, Walker is said to have gotten into an argument with his girlfriend. The couple’s child was also present for the argument. Walker then began to throw things around the apartment and eventually pushed his girlfriend onto the child’s rocking horse.
As a result of the fall, the victim’s hip was bruised and began to swell. Walker did admit to pushing her but said she fell because her feet were crossed.
The female than dialed 911 but had the phone taken away from her by Walker. Per the report, Walker said, “she was not going to call them(the police).” Walker then gave the female his own phone to dial 911 before snatching it away. However the victim was able to hit send on the call and Walker did not immediately hang up the phone. According to dispatch sounds of hitting and of struggle could be heard.
An officer then arrived at the couple’s apartment. When the couple opened the door, the female had been crying hysterically and said she had been assaulted. After Walker told the office that he had pushed the female, he was arrested for Assault Class-A, family violence, as the couple had a child together, were dating and were living together. Walker was also charged with a count of interfering with Emergency Assistance.
Per Texas A&M policy, Walker has been suspended indefinitely. In his previous two years at A&M, he had 45 tackles and five career starts. He was arrested at 10:10 p.m. on Friday night. The entire report can be read below.
