It’s safe to say that Christian Kirk’s Twitter blew up on Friday night after he was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. But one football legend waited until Monday to congratulate the former Texas A&M wide receiver.
Barry Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL legend, sent a congratulatory tweet to Kirk, telling the former Aggies standout that he is looking forward to seeing him play at the next level.

Kirk was projected to be a first-round pick by some analysts, but he fell to No. 47. Now, he returns to Arizona, where he attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, prior to joining Texas A&M.
It certainly seems to be a good fit for Kirk, who will join a Cardinals wide receiver corps that includes longtime standout Larry Fitzgerald.
Kirk may also be catching passes from another 2018 NFL Draft selection, as the Cardinals selected former UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen in the first round.
After Sanders sent his tweet, Kirk later responded with a tweet of his own:
Means a lot! Hoping I can be at least half the player you were! https://t.co/h1llQjIpEQ
