Former Texas A&M and Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel’s recent run of partying and off-field troubles has been extensive and well-documented, and now his behavior has gotten so alarming that several close friends of the embattled athlete have told TMZ Sports they’re afraid he’ll die if he continues his current lifestyle.
TMZ Sports reports that Manziel’s alleged drug use is getting to the point he will use drugs in front of people he barely knows.
“He’s in a horrible downward spiral,” a source close to the quarterback told TMZ Sports.
Even serious attempts to intervene with Manziel have reportedly been blown off. One source told TMZ he “flipped out and would not hear it,” referring to the concerns expressed by those confronting him.
Meanwhile, Manziel’s raucous partying has even gotten him blacklisted in Las Vegas, according to TMZ. He was recently kicked out of a Vegas nightclub after punching a man.
Manziel’s friends aren’t the only ones who have expressed worry about Manziel’s health and wellbeing. Two different agents dropped him for refusing to get help with his alcohol abuse.
Even Manziel’s father, Paul Manziel, said his son would likely not see his 24th birthday if he doesn’t change his ways.
