The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed LG Luke Joeckel on injured reserve after he suffered major injury Sunday, the team announced this week.
The former Texas A&M Aggie and the No. 2 overall draft pick in 2013 suffered a left knee injury against the Colts. He is expected to have surgery this week.
Jacksonville has six weeks to decide whether it will bring him back after Week 12 this season or have him sit the rest of the year.
It’s the second time he’s been placed on IR during his four seasons in the league. He was also placed on IR his rookie season after suffering a broken ankle and missed the final 11 games of the year.
Joeckel, who moved from tackle to guard this season after the team signed Kevin Beachum as a free agent, has started in 40 games for Jacksonville since 2013.
