John Chavis has been around some electric SEC Stadiums.
That’s since his playing days at Tennessee from 1976-1978, and another year as a graduate assistant with the Vols in 1979.
After a five year stint at Alabama A&M from 1980-1985, Chavis returned to Knoxville for nearly 20 years, splitting duties as the Vols’ defensive line and linebackers coach, as well as defensive coordinator duties from 1995-2008.
Then it was a five-year stint at LSU as the Tigers’ defensive coordinator — another big-time environment in Death Valley.
He’s now at Texas A&M, and after two seasons, Chavis has already seen enough to deem College Station the best stadium he has been around.
John Chavis: "I've never been in a stadium that can come alive like this one at Texas A&M."

Tennessee and LSU fans may have something to say about this, and the Vols will have a chance to silence that “alive” crowd on Saturday.
In a top-10 matchup, No. 8 Texas A&M and No. 9 Tennessee will face off at Kyle Field on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET with ESPN’s College GameDay on hand.
LSU will also gets it shot at the Aggies crowd to cap off the season on Thanksgiving (Nov. 24).
