It wasn’t too long ago that Kevin Sumlin’s job security was in question.
Coming off of back-to-back 8-5 seasons and a host of offseason distractions, Sumlin entered the 2016 needing to win. He’s done just that, leading the Aggies to a 6-0 record and a No. 6 ranking in the latest Associated Press poll.
Tom Herman, who now occupies the same job that Sumlin did from 2008-11 at Houston, has done his fair share of winning as well in two seasons at Houston. The Cougars did lose to Navy last weekend, but it was just Houston’s second loss under Herman.
Given the proximity to Texas A&M and the fact that Herman occupies Sumlin’s old gig, the fifth-year Texas A&M was asked about Herman Wednesday on the Russillo and Kanell radio show.
When asked about Herman, Sumlin offered up a gem of a quote.
