President Barack Obama picked an SEC team to advance to the Final Four in his final edition of Barack-etology before his presidency concludes. But it might not be the team most fans would expect.
Obama may be an honorary member of the 12th Man, because he believes the Texas A&M Aggies will advance to Houston out of the West Region. He predicts the No. 3 Aggies will take down the No. 4 Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight.
“All these teams (in the West Region) I think are fairly evenly matched,” Obama said. “I like the veteran leadership that A&M can provide. I figured I didn’t want to go chalk again this year like I’ve done a couple years previously. So, A&M’s my big pick to get to the Final Four.”
Unfortunately, Obama has Texas A&M’s road ending early in Houston. The president believes the Aggies will be downed by former Big 12 foe, and three-time tournament champion, Kansas.
As for Kentucky, Obama had the Wildcats falling in the Sweet 16 in the East Region to his tournament runner-up, North Carolina.
