Redshirt freshman running back Rakeem Boyd has transferred away from Texas A&M and signed a LOI with Independence Community College.
Tayler Hamm of 247Sports reported that Boyd is leaving Aggieland because of grade problems. Improvement could get him back to A&M at some point.
His departure could hurt the Aggies’ running back depth. Keith Ford and Trayveon Williams are expected to get most of the playing time with Kendall Bussey in reserve.
The Aggies had a potent ground attack last season, rushing for 2,754 yards to rank 34th in the nation. Their yard-per-carry average was an impressive 5.69 to rank ninth nationally.
