It’s been assumed that former Texas A&M standout Myles Garrett would be selected with the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, and it’s becoming more apparent that will be the case.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, the Cleveland Browns, who own the top pick in next month’s draft, have conducted private workouts with several players, including Garrett.
Garrett is the No. 1 pick in most mock drafts with a little more than a month to go before the former Aggie discovers where his new home will be — although he won’t be in Philadelphia, the site of this year’s draft, when the selection is made.
If there were any doubts at all over whether Garrett should be the No. 1 pick, he put those to rest with an impressive performance at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month.
Garrett totaled 141 tackles and 31 sacks over his three-year career at Texas A&M.
The first round of the NFL Draft will take place on April 27.
