It appears Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak will be just fine after leaving Sunday’s game in an ambulance because of flu-like symptoms.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Kubiak, a former Texas A&M star, is still at the hospital and resting. Doctors ran a slew of tests, but Rapoport says those were mainly precautionary.
This is good news for Kubiak, his family and the Broncos. Obviously, Kubiak’s departure from the game might have been viewed as alarming. But again, it appears this was more of a proactive decision.
Unfortunately, Kubiak and the Broncos may be sick to their stomachs over Sunday’s 23-16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Denver’s vaunted defense surrendered 372 yards to Matt Ryan and the Falcons as the Broncos offense struggled under rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch, who was making his first career start.
Right now, the most important concern is Kubiak’s health.
