Texas A&M’s basketball program reportedly is losing a player.
CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported Thursday that Aggies forward Eric Vila will transfer. Vila, a 6-foot-11, 206-pound player from Girona, Spain, was a minimal contributor for Texas A&M last season as a freshman. He averaged 2.3 points, 2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He averaged 11.9 minutes per contest.

The development is a hit to the Aggies’ depth. Texas A&M struggled last season under coach Billy Kennedy, going 16-15. The Aggies missed the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in six seasons.
