Looks like Texas A&M students aren’t the only ones who can get arrested in College Station.
Former Aggies defensive lineman Mark Wheeler was arrested on Monday morning. He was arrested on charges of of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia per a report by the Associated Press. Bond for Wheeler was set at $10,200. Per the arrest report, police found cocaine and marijuana in Wheeler’s truck.
Wheeler was arrested in an on campus parking lot after police were called to investigate a suspicious person in a truck.
After playing for the Aggies, Wheeler was drafted in the third round of the 1992 NFL Draft by the Tampa Buccaneers. He spent eight seasons in the NFL with Tampa Bay, the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. Wheeler started for the Patriots when they appeared in Super Bowl XXXI.
