Even in a place as remote and far away as Hawaii, Johnny Manziel still made the headlines.
Per a TMZ report, Manziel was attending a wedding and reportedly punched another wedding guest in the face. Manziel and the guest had been going back and forth before the wedding and the altercation happened at the rehearsal dinner, according to the report. Police were not called to the hotel where the incident occurred.
Manziel apologized for the event the next day, as the report says that Manziel sent over a bottle of champagne with a signed note that read, “Truly apologize. Should have never done that. Know this won’t make it better, but hope it starts the day off alright.”
This incident comes just days after a story in the Washington Post recaps all of Manziel’s incidents since his rise to fame. The story also reveals just some of the concern Manziel’s friends and family have for the former Heisman Trophy winner. At SEC Media Days last week, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin revealed that he had been in contact with Manziel.
Manziel is currently without a team after being released by the Cleveland Browns in March. If Manziel does return to the NFL, he must serve a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
