Johnny Manziel told TMZ Saturday night that he was living in Los Angeles with fellow Aggie and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller as he attempts to revive his NFL career, but a new ESPN report claims that is not true at all.
Instead, the report says, Manziel is living in an apartment with former Browns teammate Josh Gordon, who is currently indefinitely suspended by the NFL for multiple violations of the substance abuse policy.
Gordon is still waiting to get an update on his potential reinstatement, while Manziel is still looking for a team to take a chance on him after he was released by the Browns in March.
In addition to Manziel’s perceived excessive partying issues, the Heisman Trophy winner has a misdemeanor assault case pending against him in Dallas, stemming from an alleged altercation with his former girlfriend. The Denver Broncos are reportedly interested in Manziel, but are hesitant to sign him until the assault case is resolved. Miller, who plays for the Broncos, has lobbied for Manziel’s return to the NFL this offseason.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with partying, bro,” Manziel previously told TMZ Saturday night. “There’s a difference between partying and being out of control. I’m living out here with my guy, Von Miller. Everybody knows Von Miller. Super Bowl MVP, Von Miller, my brother. I’m living with him right now. We’re getting our lives together, bro.”
Guess we’ll have to wait for the next time Manziel and TMZ to catch up to find out if that is still his position, now that the new report has surfaced.
Miller tweeted this from his personal Instagram account Monday evening.
