It seems like every day, new — more incriminating — details emerge from the Johnny Manziel saga.
Here’s the Tuesday update: According to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Silver, Manziel attended practice drunk and the Browns hid it.
“Johnny Manziel, going into what would have been a start late in the season, showed up drunk at practice on a Wednesday,” Silver reported. “The Browns lied and said he was in the concussion protocol. Let me repeat that: The Browns lied to try to protect, and I would argue enable, this irresponsible and very troubled young man.”
The news comes on the heels of Manziel’s ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, telling the Dallas Morning News that Manziel kidnapped and assaulted her.
The Browns are expected to release Manziel in in March.
“This is so much bigger than football now,” Silver said. “And let’s please stop talking about football with this guy. He’s not even that good a football player. Even if he were, no coach would hitch his wagon to him.
“He’s on a downward spiral that is very, very dangerous.”
