Nix has been coaching since 1995. He was with Southern Miss (1995-2004), South Carolina (2005-07), Ole Miss (2008-11) and Middle Tennessee (2012-16) prior to joining Texas A&M last season. Nix served as defensive coordinator for at least one season at each of his four previous stops.
Nix was hired by the Aggies under former coach Kevin Sumlin. Sumlin was fired at the end of last season and replaced by Jimbo Fisher, who left Florida State for Texas A&M.
