Texas A&M and LSU fans will now be able to have a stress-free Thanksgiving.
Well, as far as football goes (family is family).
The Aggies and Tigers will no longer cap off their regular seasons on Thanksgiving Thursday when the two meet at Kyle Field, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman.
The teams will play on Thanksgiving for the final time this season on Nov. 24. Ole Miss and Mississippi State have agreed to play their annual Egg Bowl rivalry game on Thanksgiving Thursday no matter the venue, according to Zwerneman, and will begin doing such in 2017.
LSU has never been a fan of playing on Thanksgiving, per Zwerneman, but agreed to do so every other year when the games hosted by the Aggies.
According to Zwerneman’s sources, student turnout and trouble with getting large-scale help played a factor in the decision.
