Texas A&M will be without one of its January signees.
Alton Robinson, a 3-star defensive end out of Judson High School (Converse, Texas), has been released from his scholarship, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman.
Robinson was arrested and charged with robbery in February after an ex-girlfriend told investigators that Robinson stole her cell phone out of her purse when she got home from a trip to the store.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end was ranked as the nation’s No. 28 weak-side defensive end and the state of Texas’ No. 71-rated prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
He chose the Aggies over Alabama, Baylor and Michigan, among others.
