The SEC and its fans rarely miss a chance to boast about their players and teams, and while not everyone loves this brazen attitude, it’s often justified by the conference’s success.
Sometimes, however, that famous pride can go too far. Take a recent tweet by the SEC Network, for instance.
Heisman Winner ✔️
National Champions ✔️
NFL MVP ✔️
Super Bowl MVP ✔️
— SEC Network (@SECNetwork) February 11, 2016
Although Texas A&M is currently a member of the SEC, the school was part of the Big 12 when Von Miller, the Super Bowl 50 MVP, played at College Station. The Broncos drafted Miller in 2011, and the Aggies did not change conferences until 2012.
As the tweet’s responses clearly show, the network’s audience didn’t appreciate this error.
