Texas A&M got one step closer t guaranteeing it will get one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2017 class.
4-star QB Kellen Mond announced that he had signed his financial aid papers on Monday. Mond, who plays for Florida powerhouse IMG Academy after transferring from his Texas high school, also said that he will enroll early.

Mond, who orginally was committed to Baylor, was being heavily pursued by Auburn as well. But with Mond’s announcement, that all but ends Auburn’s chances of landing the No. 3 dual threat QB for the 2017 class.
This pretty much closes the door on any chance Auburn had to flip this QB target https://t.co/UlWWOBxT8A

Assuming Mond enrolls, he would be the highest rated QB on Texas A&M’s 2017 roster. Current starter Trevor Knight is a senior and will exhaust his eligibility at the end of the season. Mond is the Aggies highest rated commit. The Aggies also have a commitment from 2017 QB Connor Blumrick of Pearland, Texas.
There is the potential of adding former Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham. Stidham left Baylor after Art Briles was fired in May. Auburn is also after Stidham’s service. He was the No. 2 dual threat QB in the class of 2015
The Aggies host No. 9 Tennessee this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
