Hey, maybe Texas A&M chancellor John Sharp thought awarding new Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher with a dateless national championship plaque would be a cute way to gain attention and create offseason buzz. If so, he was right — to an extent.
It’s well-known that Texas A&M gave Fisher a 10-year, $75 million contract to deliver a national championship. But there’s no need to make light of the mission, which will be tough for the Aggies in the rugged SEC West.
In a totally predictable move, some on Twitter poked fun at Sharp, Fisher and Texas A&M for the misguided plaque stunt. (Really, can you picture anyone at Alabama doing something similar? We didn’t think so. Come on, Aggies.)

UCF just claimed a national championship for whatever year Jimbo Fisher gets to inscribe on his dateless national title trophy at Texas A&M.
