Trailing 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Texas A&M put up nine unanswered runs to defeat Florida and claim its first ever SEC tournament title Sunday afternoon in Hoover, Ala.
Down two runs to the No. 1 seed Gators, J.B. Moss drove in two of his five RBI to even up the score before Nick Banks put the Aggies ahead with a two-run blast. The Maroon and White put up five more runs in the eighth inning before Andrew Vinson finished off three scoreless innings of work with a ninth inning strikeout to end the game 12-5.
Already a lock for the NCAA Tournament, the Aggies will learn tomorrow where they land in the field on Selection Monday. A&M is anticipated to be a national seed.
Double elimination regionals will start on June 3 and the eight-team College World Series will begin on June 18 in Omaha.
